Clogau Brand Story

Voted the UK’s no.1 gold brand every month for almost two years, ­Clogau is a British fine jewellery brand with a royal heritage. The brand is already sold in 15 countries worldwide, along with 20 airlines, 6 cruise ships and 3 shopping channels – and now it’s targeting to expand into the Chinese market.

Uniquely, each piece of Clogau jewellery contains a measured amount of the very same rare Welsh gold that has been used to create wedding rings for some members of the Royal Family since the early 1900s, including the wedding rings worn by Her Majesty The Queen of England, and most recently Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, in 2011.

This tradition was founded by The Queen Mother, then Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon, on her marriage to the Duke of York on 26th April, 1923.
